The REDD Countries Database launches for Brazil, Cameroon and Vietnam

Project update

20 Jun 2011

The Global Canopy Programme and Forum on Readiness for REDD are pleased to announce the launch of the new REDD Countries Database on the REDD Desk

www.theREDDdesk.org/countries

The REDD Countries Database is a centralised and collaborative database of the diverse and rapidly evolving range of ongoing REDD activities in tropical forest owning nations. Organized and aggregated by country, the REDD Countries Database summarizes key information across a range of areas including policies, plans, laws, statistics, activities and financing.

The launch comprises three pilot countries: Brazil, Cameroon and Vietnam; with Guyana, Ecuador, Peru, Tanzania and Indonesia coming soon; and a further six countries launched by the end of the summer. Follow @theREDDdesk on twitter or join our REDD desk mailing list for updates as well as the latest REDD news.

The REDD Countries Database has been developed by an international team of REDD experts and has been made possible by the generous support of The Climate and Land Use Alliance and The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.

We now invite you to engage with this initiative and share your knowledge to help us identify gaps and to make the REDD countries database the best possible resource for the REDD community. Please send your comments or updates to database@theREDDdesk.org.
