We seek a world that recognises, accounts for, and safeguards natural capital as vital to lasting human wellbeing and economic prosperity.
To demonstrate the scientific, political and financial case for safeguarding tropical forests as natural capital essential to lasting human wellbeing and economic prosperity. To achieve this we focus on four key themes: Forests and Human Security, Drivers of Deforestation, Forests and Finance, and Natural Capital Accountability.
The Global Canopy Programme’s (GCP) pioneering initiatives such as the Forest Footprint Disclosure Project, the Natural Capital Declaration, the REDD Desk and the Little Book series test innovative solutions to protect forests within a global economy that still values them more dead than alive.
GCP is a tropical forest thinktank based in Oxford working through multidisciplinary networks worldwide.
